Welcome to the Jill Newman website. I'm proud to announce my debut CD, Fragile Walls featuring the talents of local Vancouver musicians Stephen Nikleva, Chris Nordquist and Peggy Lee and showcasing me on lead electric guitar and vocals. It's a rootsy blend of country, blues and folk. Check out some audio samples at the "Buy CD" page and let me know what you think!

The process of writing these songs made me truly appreciate my favorite songwriters; namely Lucinda Williams, Sonny Landreth and Tom Waits. For any of you who are contemplating writing your own songs and creating your own CD, my advice is don't think about it too much, just write and write and write. You'll get there!
